Draft Storyboard Animatic
here is an animatic of the storyboard to date. not the final one but just here to give a better idea of the story so far.
Alien Decision Meeting
The Eyes will be on stalks, and will be able to look everywhere and move separately from each other.
The body will be a biped, and will have a tail.
It will have just 2 arms with the tried and tested 3 finger 1 thumb method.
the neck will vary in type and will be different for each Alien.
The mouth will be a basic line shape and it will have very square teeth, to make it look less agressive.
The height on 3DS Max will be 10cm to a unit, 10 units per metre, andthe tallest character will be 17 units

Which one do You like.
A Rough Shot List
Scene 1:
The camera fades gently into a street scene full of buildings (houses). The location looks generally normal to the viewer but after a few seconds two UFO’s zoom over the town pub. This creates a transition to the title. The camera slowly travels down the street towards the pub passing numerous signs introducing the game and its creators.
Scene 2:
The scene cuts to a shot inside the pub with several aliens enjoying a drink and chatting, the camera pans around the pub before coming to a stop with the bar and barman in view. The camera then cuts to a shot facing the bar with the TV behind the barman showing a news flash of invading humans, the camera slowly tilts up to the TV and gently zooms in.
Scene 3:
A shot outside the pub of a news crew reporting the invasion of the humans, this is accompanied by loud noises and a busy street with confused little aliens. The camera is shaking and juddering throughout this scene and ends with the camera man collapsing and the footage wipes to static.
Scene 4:
Scene cuts to a shot back inside the pub showing a puzzled alien watching the news and checking his empty pint glass. [Loud Bang] A fast pan to the pub door showing the humans screaming ordering the aliens to evacuate the building in an orderly fashion or be shot, the camera moves over the top of the bar to find one alien hiding under the sink quivering. The alien comes across a dusty box labelled ‘Emergency Only – When humans attack’. While all the commotion is going on in the pub in the background the alien opens the box which contains simply a frying pan, spatula and a banana.
Scene 5:
The pub is now empty accept the last alien. The camera shot is from the door looking in towards the bar. Camera slowly moves towards the bar and simultaneously the alien rising from behind the bar wielding the banana and spatula and wearing the frying pan on his head. This all happens with dramatic music getting louder as the camera gets closer. The alien’s facial features change from docile to very angry.

Script meeting - Ideas

A few aliens are sat in a pub or whatever their equivalent is, and are simply enjoying themselves drinking and chatting. The camera can initially pan through the street over to the pubs location. The street may consist of strange buildings that represent different time periods suggesting the aliens haven't settled into one definite time frame yet.
The pub can have music accompanying the pub atmosphere, people are simply chatting and having a good time, a TVs volume then over powers the music to inform the aliens of breaking news. This breaking news alerts the aliens of possible attacking humans who will be invading very soon (Human Invaders) the camera shows all this action is located just outside the pub, one alien checks his drink in case this is a story of a drunken alien.
Once the attack becomes apparent that the humans are here for destructive tendencies then the barman looks down to see if the box labeled 'open in emergency of human attack' is still present below the bar. Once opened the alien discovers a frying pan and a banana and a note saying 'good luck'. the alien grabs the frying pan and the camera fades to gameplay.

Our Story Idea
What I know that has used the alien concept in a game is 'Destroy All Humans', the game in which a lone alien attempts to take over the earth. We can also draw comedic influence from the TV episode of republican space rangers from GTA 4 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/210909.html. There's also the Futurama episode War is the H Word. Thats all I could find to support the idea of the human invaders onto an alien planet, so it is a relatively original idea, and I think it could work.

Hi guys

hi guys
talking to josh and dean on fri
it was suggested that we have a meeting tonight if that is ok
we really ought to up load our drawings of aliens and environments
so we have something to discuss.
the problem is i don't know where to up load it a blog we can all log on to may be the way foward. I am just not sure how to go about it. I will try blogger and see how i get on.
I hope i can get hold of dan as he should have found something to justify our script.
